Annual Awards Honor Top Commercial Real Estate Broker
The Triangle Commercial Association of REALTORS®, has announced that former Carolina Hurricane’s captain Ron Francis will serve as the keynote speaker for the 2012 Frontier Awards. The organization’s signature event honors the top commercial real estate brokers for their transaction volume, as well as leadership in the association, the industry and the community. The seventh annual Frontier Awards will be held at 8 a.m. on Thursday, March 1 at the Carolina Country Club in Raleigh, N.C.
Francis, a former first round draft pick, played 23 seasons in the National Hockey League with the Hartford Whalers, Pittsburgh Penguins, Carolina Hurricanes and Toronto Maple Leafs. In 16 seasons with the Hartford/Carolina franchise, Francis played in 1,186 games, scoring 382 goals and earning 793 assists for 1,175 points—all of which are franchise records. The Hurricanes officially retired Francis’ No. 10 jersey to the RBC Center’s rafters on Jan. 28, 2006, and on Nov. 12, 2007, Francis was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame. He now serves as Director of Hockey Operations for the Hurricanes.
“We are thrilled to have Ron join us in celebrating the accomplishments of TCAR members,” said Kerry Saunders, TCAR president. “Like Ron did while playing with the Canes, TCAR members play a critical role in advancing the Triangle region as they are often the first point of contact for new companies looking to locate in the region.”

- Million Dollar Club Winners
- Trail Blazer Award
