2010 Joint Event Needs Sponsors

It’s a MAD HATTER Party and you’re invited! It’s that time of year again: the 5th Annual Joint Networking Event when commercial real estate organizations get together to have fun, network, win raffle items and give to a worthy cause. But to be successful, we need your help!

We would like for your company to be a sponsor for the event to be held on Wednesday, September 1st. If you have participated in the past, you know that over 400 people attend the event each year. Benefits of your $500 sponsorship include: having your company name publicized in multiple email blasts to members of all of the commercial real estate groups (TCAR, TCREW, TRAOBA, BOMA, IREM, CCIM-NC, AAREPNC and NAIOP)…that’s over 1,200 people! You’ll also have a 6ft. table at the event for display, get two free tickets to the event; and essentially be contributing to a very worthy cause: Interact. (At past events, you may recall we have given $10,000 to each of the following organizations: Pretty in Pink, Hilltop Homes and the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle. $5,000 was given to the Women’s Center of Wake County at our first event.)

Please let me know if you are interested in sponsorship. Remember the earlier you sign up, the more exposure you will have to all the industry professionals! For the details contact Kim Brennan at kimb@tcar.com or call 919-228-2588.

Special thanks to Tri Properties for being our Gold Sponsor.

Cheers,
Kerry Saunders
On behalf of TCAR & TCREW

P.S. Two major raffle items: A $1,000 Disney gift certificate- good for any one of their parks, resorts, hotels, or stores; and an Apple iPad. More to come!!

A Message From Networking Chair, Kerry Saunders

The time is fast approaching for our 5th Annual Joint Networking Event with the proceeds benefiting a local charity. You may recall, last year we were able to give The InterFaith Food Shuttle a check for $10,000 along with lots of canned goods.

This year, our event will be held on Wednesday, September 1st and we are looking at potential location options. The space would need to be approximately 10,000sf, fully air-conditioned, wide-open and centrally located with adequate parking. It does not need to be carpeted, etc. We had approximately 400+ commercial real estate related professionals from TCAR, TCREW, BOMA, IREM, CCIM, NAIOP, and AAREPNC attend last year at 3600 Glenwood Avenue with a theme of SHOW US YOUR SCHOOL SPIRIT. The committee members from each of the organizations have already started meeting to plan an even better event this year!

If you have an building owner interested in exposing his office or flex space to over 400 professionals and pay the Gold Sponsorship level of $5,000, please notify Kim Brennan with TCAR at kimb@tcar.com or Kerry Saunders with TCREW at ksaunders@naicarolantic.com. We will need to make a final decision within the next few weeks.

Thanks for your help!

Kind regards,
Kerry

4th Annual Joint Event: Another Great Event

I had not realized it has been so long since I last wrote but we have been so busy here at TCAR with us finishing up with the Joint Event that was on the 27th of August. And it was another really successful event!

The Joint Event is put on by several commercial associations including TCAR, NC-CCIM, TCREW, TRAOBA, IREM BOMA, NAIOP and our newest addition, AAREPNC. Every year the group does a fund raiser with a theme and this year we are pleased to announce we were able to raise $10,000 and an undetermined amount of canned goods for the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle.

This year we celebrated our school spirit by wearing the colors of our choice at Highwoods Properties, Inc and John Hogan's, 3600 Glenwood Ave in Raleigh. Our appreciation to them and the other Gold Sponsors, Shelco and HagerSmith Design.

Over 400 local commercial real estate professionals celebrated their school spirit to the tunes of DJ Joe Bunn and enjoyed a tailgating pig picking done by Lip Service Contemporary Catering. We raffled off over 19 prizes that included a Panthers weekend in Charlotte, U2 Concert tickets, football game tickets, tailgating tents and all kinds of great gift certificates.

"We were pleased and surprised to have raised the amount of money we did this year for the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle" said TCREW and Joint Event Coordinator, Kerry Saunders. If you don't know about the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle, they are an organization that believes that hunger is unacceptable and has developed systems that recover, prepare and distribute wholesome, perishable food for the area's poor, hungry, undernourished and homeless. Founded twenty years ago, it is a highly efficient multi-layered approach to combat hunger. For more information on the Interfaith Food Shuttle and how you can be more involved, go to http://www.foodshuttle.org/aboutus.html .

I would also like to list the Silver Sponsors that also made the donation and the Joint Event possible. They are as follows: Allied Barton Security Services, Ambius, Bland Landscaping, Carolina Place, Cary Reconstruction Co,Inc, Code Electric, Inc, Edge Office, Environmental Holdings Group, LLC, Exterior Diagnostic Services, Fifth Third Bank, Graebel, Grandbridge Real Estate Capital, Greenscape, Inc, HighRise Repair, Inc, Heery, Lincoln Harris, MG Capital, NAI Carolantic Realty, Inc, North State Bank, Office Suites PLUS, Phillips Architecture, PPM-Global, Scotties Building Services, Sears Contract Inc, SkySite Aerial Photography, Smith Moore Leatherwood, LLC, Sparkkles Restoration, The Law Offices of Tony Tingen, PLLC, Tri-Properties, Wake County Economic Development and York Properties.

Thank you again to everyone that made it all possible! Special thanks to the other volunteers that were the underdogs of the evening. We look forward to next year!

Calling All Sponsors

We're still looking for Sponsors for this year's Annual Joint Networking Event. This is a great opportunity to get exposure for your company over the remaining weeks prior to and the day of the event. Last year we had over 400 people attend the beach party themed event and were able to donate $10,000 to Hilltop Home.

This year we want to know who your favorite team is and all for a worthy cause, The Inter-Faith Food Shuttle. But we need $500 sponsors. With the sponsorship you will have your name publicized in multiple email blasts to all of the commercial real estate groups (BOMA, CCIM-NC, IREM, NAIOP, TCAR, TCREW and TRAOBA); have a table at the event for display; two free tickets to the event and in the end, contributed to a worthy cause.

So contact the TCAR office at 919-228-2588 or email Kim Brennan at kimb@tcar.com if you are interested. The earlier you sign up, the more exposure you will receive to over 900 industry professionals.

Special thanks to Highwoods Properties, Hagersmith Design and Shelco for being our Gold Sponsors this year.

We're Looking for Sponsors

So, every year TCAR and TCREW band together with other groups to raise money and awareness for an organization. In the past we have raised $10,000 for Hilltop Home and Pretty in Pink. This year, along with TCAR and TCREW, BOMA,TRAOBA & NC-CCIM will join forces to raise money and canned goods for the the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina.

This is the fourth year of the Joint Event and with every year it has gotten bigger and more folks have been involved. This year our Platinum Sponsor, Highwoods Properties, has been gracious enough to hold the event at the Poyner & Spruill Building on Glenwood Avenue. Gold Sponsor this year is Shelco and HagerSmith Design.

If you have ever been to the Joint Event, the one thing you do know is that there are a lot of people that show up. All of the marketing materials goes out to every member of each organization. That's over 900 folks! We're looking for Silver Sponsors at the moment and that is a $500 investment. You get the opportunity to set up a table, a free admission and a chance to meet a lot of great people, maybe even do some business with some of them. Current sponsors this year are Ambius, Bland Landscaping, MG Capital, NAI Carolantic Realty, Inc, Office Suites PLUS, Scotties Building Services, SkySite and TCAR. If you're interested in an opportunity to network with a group of people that have connections to the commercial real estate industry just give us a call at 919-228-2588 or email me at kimb@tcar.com.

This year's theme is " Show Your Colors" . If you wear your school colors and bring in two canned goods for the food bank you get a free raffle ticket. They'll be a barbeque, two free drink tickets, DJ Joe Bunn and tours of the Poyner & Spruill Building for just $15. Registration will be online at tcar.com in June, but you can call the office in the mean time to register early.

Lastly, we do a raffle and we could use items donated for the raffle. So if you have something to help raise money for a good cause, let me know.

Everyone have a great weekend and stay safe!
